Ankle Sprains

Most footballers have rolled their ankle at some stage but what has actually happened?

Put simply, part of the ligament has torn. The ligaments job is to hold the bones in the ankle together and if it is torn, the ankle becomes unstable.

Unfortunately, once the ligament has healed it is not as strong as it used to be and 92% of people will experience another sprain due to this fact. It is possible to minimize the chance of a re-sprain though by strengthening the muscles surrounding the ankle to provide additional support and improving balance.
