🔔 2024 - Frequently Asked Questions. Keep watching this post as it is updated through to March 2024. Information last updated 21 September 🔔The key information in brief ⚽️ Registration for season 2024 will open around 4 January 2024. Payment is on-line. There will be a detailed ‘how to’ registration and payment post posted closer to the date. ⚽️ No one will miss out on a place in a team provided they register within 7 days of the registration portal opening, a team is offered for their age and level, and vacancies are available. Do not wait until after school holidays to register. ⚽️ Selection trials for FQAL Under 10s to 18s, Kangaroos 9-12s, Junior League 13-18s, and Junior League Girls 13/15/17s have already been posted. You must pre-register. ⚽️ Selections and grading for all other teams will be in late January or early February. We will offer teams at all community levels until under 12s. For Under 13s and above teams are offered based on demand. ⚽️ FQ offers competitions from under 6s, and applies levels for Community competition from Under 8s (with a higher level called Development); Under 9-12s (levels called Kangaroos, Wallabies, Quokkas); Under 13s and above (levels called Junior League, Div 1,2,3,4 etc). ‘Girls only’ competition started from Under 9s in 2023 and from Under 13s has 2 levels (Junior League and Division 1). MORE INFORMATION:⚽️ In 2024 we will have teams playing from Murwillumbah to Toowoomba to Ipswich to Brighton across competitions from FQPL 1 Women to FQ Academy League Boys to local Gold Coast competition for Under 6s through to Seniors referred to as FQ South Coast (FQSC).⚽️ Our fields are at Robina Common, Ron Penhaligon Way Robina. Our colours are royal blue with red and white trim. ⚽️ We are a volunteer run community club that relies on volunteer support, canteen revenue and sponsorship to keep fees low. We have a full-time paid TD, and our advanced coaches are paid as they require appropriate licensing and experience. Managers and committee are volunteers. We are seeking coaches for our community team from Under 6s and above. If you are keen to join our committee please message President Paul Rushton on 0411103328. if you are keen to coach please message our Club Coaching Coordinator Craig Marriott on 0402 835 473.⚽️ On Saturday 20 January we will host a registration morning from 9-12 where you can ask questions. We will have a come and try clinic for new players to club football age 6 to 12 from 9-10am. This will include a girls only group. You do not need to attend this morning unless you need assistance, or want to attend the come and try clinic. Please do not wait until this clinic if you definitely want to play as positions filled for many age groups before this date in 2023. ⚽️ WHEN DOES TRAINING START - Training will start at different times depending on age and level. Please see the posted training timetables in mid to late January and note that training times are subject to change until they are announced as finalised. The sooner players are registered and coaches are locked in the sooner we can finalise the timetable. ⚽️ SEASON START - The season will start mid-March for community juniors. Metro seniors start early March usually. We recommend leaving the last 4 to 5 Saturdays (for 8s to 14s), 4 Fridays (for 15s and above) prior to season start for pre-season games. ⚽️ PLAYING DAYS - Under 6s to 14s play on a weekend. Our Under 6s and 7s play against other clubs on a Saturday morning. Under 15s to 18s play Friday nights. Metro men and women play Wednesday nights. (All of this is subject to FQ confirmation for 2024).⚽️SOCKS & SHORTS are available for purchase from our City FC Shop Mondays to Thursdays 430-615 from mid-February. When jerseys arrive they will be distributed to Team Managers to hand out. ⚽️ TINY TOTS is for age 3 to 5 year olds, and will be on Wednesdays starting at 430 starting late February. The registration process is different to registration for age 6 and above and we will advertise how to register later in January. ⚽️ GIRLS - We plan to have the following girls teams as a minimum: Under 9 (2-3), 11 (2-3), 13 (2-3), 15 (2-3), and 17 (2). Should FQ offer competitions in each age group we will do our best to offer this option (depending on how late it is confirmed). We have advertised trials for our advanced teams (who in 2023 competed in what was called Junior League) and for other teams it is first in first served. Girls are welcome to play mixed. Training times for Girls will be posted in the training timetable. ⚽️ BOYS - We will offer teams from Under 6s through to 18s with multiple teams in each age group. As long as you are registered early and there are multiple teams in your age group you will not miss out. Please note the comments below for various age groups that are predominantly boys but open to girls (referred to as mixed). ⚽️ UNDER 6s & 7s - See the detailed Under 6/7 guide posted in the next 2 months. Teams are formed at a MUSTER on Saturday 3 February (note - places are usually filled early ABC the muster is to allocate players to teams). Under 6s usually train Mondays and Wednesdays at 430. Under 7s usually train Tuesdays and Thursdays at 430. We will have one team of Under 6/7 all Girls if there is a competition for them to enter. ⚽️ UNDER 8s Boys/Mixed we plan to have 4 teams with 1 to 2 advanced teams referred to as Under 8 Development who will have trials from the week of 20 January (details to be advised). All other teams will be formed when training commences the week of 5 February on Mondays and Wednesdays at 430. Final training times may depend on coach availability. See the specific under 8 post posted before Christmas. ⚽️ UNDER 9s to 12s Boys/Mixed are typically graded into 3 levels: FQ Academy League (the highest levels), Kangaroos (the highest community level), Wallabies and Quokkas. Trials for FQAL and Kangaroos are prior to Christmas and have already been posted. ⚽️ UNDER 13s to 18s Boys/Mixed are typically graded into FQ Academy Leagues, Junior League, Division 1 to 3. We typically offerJL, Division 1, and Division 2 or 3. We are one of 5 Gold Coast clubs that also offer FQ Academy League (FQAL) for Under 13s to 18s. Trials for FQAL and JL have been advertised. We will have offer JL in all age groups. Grading for Divisions 1 to 3 will commence after 27 January.⚽️ WOMEN - in 2024 we will have FQPL 1 and Under 23s, and Metro Division 1 and 2, or one of those two depending on demand.
