⭐️ Positions available for Under 10, 11 and 12 FQ Academy League teams participating in the first year of the newly formed league ⭐️This is an opportunity to play against teams from Brisbane and one other GC club Coomera. Note every second game is at home. One training session per week will be with our newly appointed full-time A Licence Technical Director D Fernando Lambert. All coaches will be announced this week, and they are experienced and have completed an FA C Licence or are working toward it. 🔥 2023 FQPL 1 Women’s Signing Robyn Spilsbury 🇨🇦 🔥Robyn joins Aiko Hanada and Serena Davidson as our first key signings. Robyn returns to our Premier League Team after joining us in mid 2021 from Alberta Canada. She was a co-captain of our 2022 Premiership and Grand Final FQPL 2 winning team and was named in the FQPL 2 Team of the Year. Robyn represented Team Alberta (the equivalent of playing for your state in Australia) for 4 seasons during her youth career and then went on to play for the University of Victoria for 4 years, taking home a bronze in Nationals during her rookie year. 🔥 2023 SIGNING ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥Welcome back to Robina City Ethan Towse !Ethan joins Tim Lahiff, Michael Rouusakis and Mason Campbell as our first signing announcements.Ethan was a key starting player for us last year. He was a member of the Surfers Apollo squad that won the double undefeated in 2020. He moved to Nerang in 2021 and was part of the squad that won the Presidents Cup and finished 2nd in the Premier League. He then played with Robina City last year finishing Runner-Up in both the Premiership and Grand Final. In between Nerang and Robina he played at a US college ranked 13th in the country. ⭐️ JUNIOR LEAGUE (the old JPL) UPDATE ⭐️In 2023 we will field teams in Under 13, Under 14 and Under 18 Junior League along with our FQ Academy teams from Under 10s through to 18s. The JL season will commence 17/18 March. ⚽️ Under 13s Junior League - the squad is now selected. The coach is Richard Tomkinson, see his profile below. Trials for Division 1 and 2 will commence after 21 January. ⚽️ Under 14s Junior League will have a further trial on Tuesday 6 December at 6pm. The coach is Peter Devine. See his profile below. Trials are in conjunction with our Under 18 FQ Academy trials today (26 November) and Monday 5 December at 630pm. We are currently organising a coach. Trials and training for Division 1 will commence after 21 January. A coach is needed for the Division 1 team. Peter Devine is a FA C licence coach who came highly recommended to Robina City FC. He played Premier League Mens for many years including over 6 years on the Gold Coast. He has coached at several clubs including Logan Strikers, Southport and Musgrave. He is known for being very committed to his players, highly organised, and with the ability to get the best out of his players in terms of individual and team development. Richard Tomkinson has 9 years of coaching experience. He has completed the C license course on the way to completing his licence. Our Advanced teams will compete in whatever is the highest local level available (in 2022 referred to as Junior League) and train 3 times a week in the pre-season and at times during the season. She is a licensed PE teacher in Japan and has been involved in coaching, and developing football programs for girls for many years. She has a Japan Football Association B Licence compatible in Australia and Asia. She has also coached an U14-U16 selection team in Japan. Aiko will be assisted by Veronica Mosqueira. Veronica hails from Paraquay and was the Captain of our Premier League Reserves team who won the Brisbane Women’s Premier League Reserves Premiership and Grand Final in 2021. Veronica oozes passion for female football having coached in our girls program the last few years. Scott Dixon will oversee all of our Girl’s teams as the Girl’s Director, in conjunction with our TD Fernando Lambert. Scott played professionally for Parramatta Power in the National Soccer League (the forerunner to the A-League) and has since coached girl’s football for many years at youth level. He has recently completed the C license course on the way to finalising his license and continuing to share his football experience to Robina players.Matt Bunn has coached Girl’s teams for the past 8 years at Robina City. He was our Girl’s Director for 3 years before moving into the Women’s Director role this year. He was the Assistant Coach of the inaugural Gold Coast Under 15 Girls team that entered the FQ Community Cup, and has coached Under 15 Girls at futsal state titles. As a player he represented Mackay and Toowoomba and the South-West Queensland zone at junior level and was invited by FQ to attend a month long player development training camp in West Germany. Matt is passionate about developing female players, and facilitating the pathway from girls to women’s football.
